**About the role**

This is an exciting opportunity of a dynamic and strategic financial leader to step into a newly created Group General Manager - Rural Infrastructure role at Ahrens Group, driving growth both nationally and internationally. As a key member of the executive team and reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Group General Manager - Rural Infrastructure will lead and oversee the strategic, operational, and financial performance of Ahrens’ silo and shed divisions.

The Group General Manager - Rural Infrastructure will be responsible for driving the division’s national expansion by implementing advanced IT systems, exploring growth opportunities, and executing a strategic plan to achieve sustainable business development. This includes growth through acquisitions, partnerships, or establishing greenfield operations to strengthen the division’s market position and footprint.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Strategic Leadership**
- Develop and execute a strategic growth plan for the Rural Infrastructure Division, including:

- Expanding the division’s national footprint.
- Identifying and pursuing acquisition targets to enhance capabilities and market share.
- Evaluating and initiating greenfield business opportunities in untapped markets.
- Conduct detailed market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive threats.Build and maintain strong relationships with industry stakeholders to support growth initiatives.

**Technology & Systems Development**
- Drive the design and implementation of IT systems to enhance operational efficiency and scalability, including:

- Tools for design, costing, and scheduling.
- An integrated ERP system to improve decision-making and resource management.

Ensure seamless adoption of new technologies by fostering collaboration across teams.

**Operational Excellence**
- Oversee manufacturing and delivery processes to ensure they align with growth and efficiency goals.
- Implement best practices in project management, supply chain, and operational workflows.Ensure all operations meet high standards for safety, quality, and environmental compliance.

**Financial & Risk Management**
- Develop and manage the division’s budget, ensuring robust financial performance and ROI on strategic initiatives.
- Lead the evaluation and due diligence of acquisition and greenfield opportunities, assessing financial, operational, and strategic risks.Provide regular financial and performance updates to the Managing Director.

**Team Leadership**
- Build, inspire, and manage a high-performing leadership team to drive the division’s objectives.
- Develop a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.Implement succession planning and professional development initiatives to ensure long-term success.

**Skills and Experience**
- A degree in Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.
- 10+ years’ senior leadership experience, with a strong track record in acquisitions & greenfield expansion.
- Experience implementing ERP systems & driving operational efficiency.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement & financial management skills.Strategic thinker with a strong growth mindset and business acumen.
