**ABOUT** **OUR PERTH OFFICE**

South32’s corporate office is based in the heart of Perth’s CBD. The corporate office houses key functions including HR, Finance, External Affairs, Sustainability Strategy, Corporate Development, Investor Relations, Group Risk, Legal and Technical. Our office is conveniently located a 5-minute walk from the Perth Underground Train Station.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

This permanent full-time position will be based in our Perth offices. We understand and value the benefits of flexibility and operate a hybrid work model (in the office and from home).

Reporting to the Lead Principal Studies, other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

- Responsible for the planning, execution and delivery of assigned concept studies, objectively, efficiently, and effectively exploring the business case of potential investment opportunities
- Health, safety and environment compliance and outcomes for assigned studies
- Development of comprehensive commercially relevant business cases evaluating investment opportunities
- Compliance with reporting and approval governance requirements
- Responsible for the development of budgets and schedules for assigned studies
- Cultivate positive relationships with members of the operations planning, analysis and improvement teams, and also with specific stakeholders and external service providers

**ABOUT YOU**

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

- Experience in the delivery of concept studies within the mining or heavy industry or relevant alternative experience
- Ten years experience in consulting, mining and earth science, extractive industry or manufacturing, particularly in the areas of strategic planning, development and reporting
- Broad exposure to operating facilities and process plants or other major industrial undertakings
- Experience in working with diverse stakeholder groups
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills; able to communicate at all levels in the organization.

Qualifications for this position are:

- Relevant degree and extensive demonstrated experience (Geoscience, Mining, Metallurgy, Engineering, Chemistry, Business or related)
- Project management or equivalent qualifications would be beneficial.
