Institutional Banking and Markets (IB&M) is responsible for managing the Group’s relationships with major corporate and government clients and institutional investors, and provides a full range of capital raising, transactional and risk management products and services. IB&M Finance supports the business in providing financial control, financial analysis and insight, product control, regulatory accounting and related project and strategy implementation support.

Product Control is a global team responsible for the independent oversight and financial control of the Global Markets business. Key functions include oversight of all daily P&L production and analysis including attribution and commentary, month end accounting, General Ledger balance sheet reconciliations and other special tasks of the business across the full product range.

**Do work that matters**

The product controllers mandate is to maintain a strong control framework around daily P&L and financial reporting. In addition, developing relationships with Front Office & other stakeholder areas such as Risk and Operations will be a key success factor in order to promote the Product Control group as a trusted and respected business partner.

You will be reporting to Senior Manager Fixed Income & Rates Product Control, and your role will require a close working relationship with the rest of the Global Markets business, Risk Management and other IB&M Finance areas globally. You’ll work closely with other members of the Global Markets Product Control team, which is made up of experienced Product Accountants with backgrounds across Markets businesses in a range of institutions globally.

**We’re interested in hearing from people who will aspire to**
- Manage the product control function for Commodities & Carbon desks
- Review daily, monthly and quarterly P&L results and analysis in line with market moves, P&L drivers and risk positions
- Manage of junior team member(s)
- Partner with Front Office on strategic desk initiatives
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of product source system data interfacing the general ledger
- Review balance sheet substantiation and month end ledger close
- Prepare data for statutory and regulatory reports
- Drive ongoing enhancements to improve efficiency and controls and add value to the businessLead and participate in project work

**Other qualities you may possess include**
- Accounting background
- 2+ years’ experience in product control or financial control
- Experience in controlling for traded financial products
- Good working knowledge of Murex trading system
- Good working knowledge of relevant accounting standards
- Knowledge of the financial reporting framework and strong technical skills
- VBA, SQL, Tableau Prep, PowerBI, Alteryx or other analytical and automation tools
- Ability to problem-solve, multitask, manage and meet competing deadlines
- Strong commercial acumen
- Tertiary Qualifications - hold a tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, or an equivalent business-related discipline
- Accounting qualification - CPA, CA, CFA or similar
