The Cooly Hotel features a range of function spaces and the Bandroom that hosts a wide array of some of the finest Australian and international touring artists, and the Cooly Hotel is unquestionably one of Queensland’s most consistent live venues.

You will be an integral part of the team, you will be overseeing the events and promotions department within Coolangatta Hotel to develop and deliver a robust strategic plan to increase the event program within the Hotel.

**About the role**
- Lead the ongoing development of the events and promotional strategy for the hotel
- Be the ‘face’ of the venue for these key markets
- Conceptualise new and exciting events and promotional activities to drive incremental footfall and engage with new and existing customers
- In conjunction with the operations and marketing team, promote and sell events from live bands to functions
- Develop and nurture relationships to drive business opportunities
- Assist the operations team to always achieve and maintain the right atmosphere and venue presentation
- Lead the team through offsite events, activations and strategic partnerships

**The person**
- Self-driven, outgoing, innovative, and creative thinker who values the importance of networking and building relationships to achieve business goals.
- Has a background in venue management, promotions, and events management
- Is a people-person, well organised, confident, and outstanding communicator
- Proven experience in leading a team to achieve outstanding results
- Knowledge of music programs for the target market
- An ability to accurately report on event and activation outcomes and financial results
- A solid understanding of the local market with proven connections to key industry players
- Desirable: Diploma in Events Management or Marketing/Promotions
- RSA desirable or willing to obtain
