Accounts Manager/bookkeeper

WSL is looking for a talented Accounts Manager who will be an integral part of the Asia Pacific (APAC) regional team at the World Surf League. This individual will report directly to the Senior Accounts Manager WSL Asia Pacific (APAC) and be responsible for performing all Accounting and FP&A functions of the Australasia region. The AM will maintain a constant and open line of communication with WSL HQ Finance to ensure timely and accurate monthly financial closes.

**Responsibilities**:

- Month-end accounting duties
- Balance Sheet and Revenue reconciliations for HQ
- Event Reconciliations
- Partner with HQ controllership and operating segments to ensure a timely and accurate monthly close process
- Oversee and authorize Accounts Payable and FX trades
- Update detailed Cash flow schedules including projections and proactively identify areas of risk and opportunity
- Prepare Event reporting (Profit & Loss, Budget & Forecast) to satisfy Government and Sponsor Contract milestones
- Preparation for audits (event reporting and annual statutory requirements)
- Statutory reporting, lodgment of returns and ensuring compliance with Aust. Government Requirements (BAS, Superannuation, W/H Tax, Payroll Tax and Workcover)
- Manage the monthly revenue reporting, reconciliation, and forecasting processes including but not limited to communication between commercial functions, finance and executive teams.
- Complete ad hoc analyses and projects as requested
- Maintain a strong working relationship with HQ, ensuring transparent financial and commercial objectives are clearly defined, communicated and prioritized

- Assist in developing reporting packages for HQ and senior leadership including qualitative / quantitative analysis and presentations

**Qualifications**:

- Certificate level qualification or higher in Bookkeeping
- Sound Understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role.
- Expert-level Excel proficiency (v-lookups, MATCH, pivot tables, SUMIF formulas)
- Experience working with mid-large ERP systems (e.g. Oracle Hyperion Planning) & Business Intelligence tools preferred
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and statistical skills are essential
- Must be detail-oriented and able to balance multiple responsibilities and tasks while meeting deadlines
- Knowledge of Sports, Media & Entertainment industries highly preferred
- Knowledge of a broad spectrum of revenue streams (Content/Media Licensing; Sponsorship; Digital Advertising Sales; Merchandise Royalties; Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) highly preferred
