**Program Manager - Deadly Science**

An excellent opportunity is available for a Program Manager for Deadly Science to join the Communications and Marketing department at Australia’s pre-eminent biomedical research institute.

**Remote applicants will be considered, provided they are comfortable with regular to travel to Melbourne for company meetings and events.**

The Program Manager for Deadly Science is a newly created position responsible for establishing and implementing an exciting new partnership, which aims to inspire young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people’s interest in science and deliver innovative education outreach activities to schools and communities.

The Program Manager will be responsible for program co-design, planning and implementation in partnership with Deadly Science. The role will provide critical support to Deadly Science to enable access to STEM resources and science-based education programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait students across Australia. The Program Manager will also work collaboratively with internal stakeholders including the Diversity and Inclusion and Communications and Marketing teams to deliver on WEHI’s reconciliation and Indigenous employment and education commitments.

**Knowledge and Skills**
- Established relationships with First Nations communities
- Demonstrated experience working in/with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education settings
- Project management skills and the ability to work with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders
- Planning and organisational skills, with experience establishing priorities, allocating resources and meeting deadlines
- Ability to investigate, analyse and consolidate information to develop effective proposals, plans and reports
- Demonstrated collaborative approach to program design and implementation including knowledge and implementation of co-design principles

- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to communicate sensitively and respectfully with a range of internal and external stakeholders from diverse backgrounds

**Qualifications**
- Education or community development qualification highly desirable or equivalent alternate combination of knowledge, training and/or experience

**Terms of Appointment**

This position is available for 1 year in a part time or full time capacity. Salary is HEW 8 ($103,726 - $112,270). Up to 17% superannuation and very attractive salary packaging options are available.
