**Who is the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator?**
The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) commenced operations in 2013 as a national entity responsible for
regulating all vehicles in Australia over 4.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass. The NHVR minimises the compliance burden on the
heavy vehicle transport industry, reduces duplication and inconsistencies across state and territory borders, and
ultimately for the heavy vehicle business with government in Australia.

**Environment**
Through leadership and influence, the NHVR administers a national system that delivers consistent and streamlined
regulatory services and administration to the Australian heavy vehicle road transport sector, reducing regulatory burden
whilst enabling greater safety and productivity.
The Operations Division ensures the continued and improved effectiveness of operational processes and transactions for
customers and service users of the NHVR. The division is accountable for operational safety and compliance functions
across NHVR.
**Primary Objective**
As an Intelligence Collections Officer in the NHVR, you will focus on supporting the NHVR’s Analysis Intelligence and
Risk Team through the collection, collation, and management of information. You will also be responsible
for collecting, validating, and assessing information via the Heavy Vehicle Confidential Reporting Line from HUMINT.
**Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities**
- Receive, validate, assess, and disseminate information from HUMINT sources made to the
NHVR’s Confidential Reporting Line.
- Actively collect and source information in line with the Analysis Intelligence and Risk Team’s collection priorities and
analysis staff information requirements.
- Collate information into NHVR intelligence systems.
- Manage two-way dialogue between NHVR Analysis Intelligence and Risk Unit and NHVR’s intelligence
consumers and stakeholders
- Prepare reports relating to heavy vehicle incidents.
- Monitor and manage personal workload, task prioritisation and allocation, including responding to critical events
and incidents.
- Adhere to all NHVR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with NHVR internal processes.
- Comply with WH&S policies and procedures and contribute and promote a safe and healthy work environment.
**Skills and Capabilities**
- Communication - Effective written, oral and interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage relationships and
partnerships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders and a sound ability to influence and negotiate
desired outcomes.

- Independence - Ability to work autonomously, often with limited supervision and to react proactively to new or
unexpected events, while demonstrating good judgement for appropriate issue escalation.
- Holds, or eligible to obtain, a Baseline vetting level security clearance
**Qualifications and Experience**
**Highly Regarded**:
- Experience in the elicitation of information from Human sources.
- Experience in the intelligence field, coupled with education and/or training in the intelligence profession would be
highly advantageous
