**About the role**:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Analyst, who will help identify and analyse improvement opportunities across significant strategic projects and initiatives within Convenience Retail business.

You will be supporting the team in preparing financial and commercial analysis across a broad range of strategic initiatives which include new store investment, portfolio review, new and existing products and services.

**Key Responsibilities Include**:

- Engaging broadly with stakeholders across the business to identify and/or assess opportunities for analysis to support business decision making
- Framing and conducting key analysis to answer critical questions, test the impact of proposed initiatives, and understand key scenarios or risks
- Building and leveraging expertise in Ampol and our supply chains, including an understanding of operational factors, business processes, and competitors’ capabilities
- Supporting the delivery of financial analysis and business cases for new store investments, refurbishments, new formats, lease renewals, closures and divestments
- Communicating and engaging with different audiences and experts regarding complex analytical projects

As a problem solver, you will demonstrate the ability to understand business requirements, assess needs, provide advice to relevant stakeholders.

As a strong communicator, you will build effective relationships to ensure a high level of collaboration is maintained across the business.

**Key skills and experience**:

- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Business, Finance, Advisory or a related discipline
- Desirable: CA/CPA qualified
- At least 3 years of direct experience in a finance, commercial finance, or related position
- Strong modelling capability, in particular business case modelling
- Intermediate/Advanced PowerPoint and Excel knowledge
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to evaluate commercial opportunities
- Excellent written / verbal communication skills
- Strong understanding of business case metrics and valuation principles
