**About the opportunity**:
Are you a strategic communicator with a passion for high-impact public sector work? Join DEM as a **Principal Communications Advisor**, where you’ll lead the development and delivery of communications strategies that support key government projects and initiatives.

In this senior role, you’ll:

- Lead and manage high-profile, politically sensitive communications activities aligned with DEM’s strategic priorities.
- Develop and implement marketing and communications strategies across digital, media, and stakeholder platforms, ensuring compliance with government standards.
- Provide expert advice and consultancy to senior executives on communications approaches and risks.
- Mentor and guide a dynamic communications team, fostering excellence in project delivery and stakeholder engagement.

**Key Selection Criteria**:

- **Expertise in Communications and Marketing**: Demonstrated high-level knowledge of communications and marketing strategies across all media, including digital platforms, social media, and website development, particularly within a government context.
- **Strong Communication and Stakeholder Engagement**: Proven ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, consult and influence stakeholders, manage conflict diplomatically, and build collaborative relationships across sectors.
- **Strategic Planning and Project Delivery**: Experienced in developing and advising on policies and strategies, delivering targeted campaigns, managing multiple projects, and providing clear reports and briefings to senior executives.

**Qualifications**:
Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or equivalent.

**Remuneration**:
ASO7 salary range $108,109 - $116,864 per annum + superannuation
Ongoing full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week

**Special Conditions**:

- Out of hours work may be required.
- Intrastate and interstate travel may be required.
