A great opportunity has become available for an experienced **Project Design Authority** to join the team in Rydalmere.**

**KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE**

The PDA is accountable for supporting capture, bid and project teams to understand the context and customer needs. Primary responsibilities of the position are as follows:

- Acting as the primary technical leader of the bid or project team.
- Acting as lead technical interface with the Customer (or Product Line Manager for a Product).
- Assessing alternative solutions.
- Ensuring the feasibility of a solution
- Ensuring that the production and maintenance/service aspects of the Solution are taken into account in terms of manufacturability, maintainability, and consistency between Non-Recurring & Recurring/Production costs.
- Checking that the Engineering Environment (process, practices and tools) for the Solution is consistent with the project needs and the applicable Engineering Environment rules.
- When needed, performing the Complexity Profiler analysis and identifying the necessary actions.
- Alerting in a timely manner the Project Manager and Design Authority as needed

**ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE**
- Strong experience in electrical, electronic, communication, information technology and software based systems and the implementation of these systems.
- Demonstrated ‘can do’ approach with a focus on achieving project milestones and deadlines.
- Proven ability to supervise, advise and support technical staff.
- Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organisational and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of quality concepts, standards, systems and programs and their importance to the organisations success.
- Self-motivated, proactive, detail orientated and organised.
- Advanced computer skills - Microsoft Office.

**DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE**
- Understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering and Architectural Frameworks.
- System integration, verification and validation within large defence projects.
- Understanding of modern training and simulation systems.
