**Job location**

Forensicare is the statutory agency responsible for the provision of adult forensic mental health services across Victoria.

We address the needs of people experiencing mental health issues, the mental health sector, the justice sector and the general community. These services are delivered through inpatient services at Thomas Embling Hospital, community services through the Community Forensic Mental Health Service and prison-based services at several locations. This position will be based at Thomas Embling Hospital and will be required to work across all Forensicare sites.

Forensicare is situated across five sites across Victoria with its largest site being Thomas Embling Hospital,?located in Fairfield, just 15 minutes north of the Melbourne city centre.
Thomas Embling Hospital is a 136-bed secure hospital providing acute care, rehabilitation and continuing care programs. It includes a dedicated women’s unit.

**About the Role**:

- Address the needs of Families and Carers at Thomas Embling Hospital
- Provide a Carers perspective to the organisation
- Liaise with external carer support services.
- Provide person cerntred care to families and carers

**Duties**:

- Co Chair Family and carer committee's
- Provide Carers perspectives across Forensicares service delivery and design
- Provide information and service connection to families and carers

**About You**:

- Good communication skills
- Lived experience as a carer or consumer within the mental health system
- Knowledge of relevant legislation including the Mental health Act.
- Ability to work with in a Lived Experience Team

**COVID19 & Influenza Vaccination Evidence**

Under the Victorian Public Health orders, all employees working within the Public Health system must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and Influenza and are required to provide acceptable evidence of their vaccination status. The current orders require evidence of three doses for COVID-19.
