The Department of Justice and Community Safety is currently seeking a Project Officer to provide a critical role within the Coordination and Governance branch.
About the business unit
Group Services and Coordination (GSC) is responsible for improving efficiency, financial and operational transparency through enhanced budgeting, reporting and investment in technology. GSC plays a key role in supporting and enabling Corrections and Justice Services' (CJS) corporate agenda.
The Coordination and Governance branch leads coordination and governance activities with group-wide impacts, including Public Accounts and Estimates Committee (PAEC) coordination, responding to parliamentary requests, and internal communications.
About the role
Coordination and Governance is a small, dynamic and friendly team in Corrections and Justice Services (CJS) with flexible work arrangements. We pride ourselves on adding value to the processes we support and we are looking for a like-minded Project Officer to join our team.
Reporting to the Senior Manager in Coordination and Governance, the Project Officer plays a key coordination and administration role in regular parliamentary processes, including Possible Parliamentary Questions (PPQs) as well as responding to Questions on Notice, Adjournment Debate matters, and constituency questions as they arise.
**Some of your duties will include**:
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of responses to Possible Parliamentary Questions, Questions on Notice, Adjournment Debates and constituency questions on behalf of Corrections and Justice Services.
- Manage the weekly production and distribution of an internal communications newsletter.
- Provide secretariat support to a senior governance committee and administrative support to two biannual stakeholder meetings

About you
**To be successful in this role, you will have**:
- Demonstrated experience in preparing formal meeting documentation.
A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent work experience in a similar role would be highly regarded.

- COVID-19 digital certificate or ATAGI exemption certificate (available via your myGov account)
- Your immunisation history statement (available via your myGov account)
Other documentation outside the above will not be accepted as evidence of having received your COVID-19 vaccine doses.
