About the role*
The Aboriginal NDIS Community Support Worker is responsible for delivering a high-quality level of care, service, and support to NDIS participants who live independently in the community. They will assist individuals in achieving a good quality of life, as well as feelings of belonging and self-fulfillment.
- Provide Culturally responsible support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander NDIS clients to allow them to live safely and independently in the community
- Assist clients with daily life skills and/or behaviour management training
- Assist clients with personal hygiene and grooming and everyday living activities, such as cooking, cleaning, attending appointments or shopping
- Promote good health and support by assisting clients with their rehabilitation exercises and basic treatment plan
**About You**
- You have lived experience as an Aboriginal person, understanding the issues faced by Aboriginal communities on a day to day basis
- You have experience supporting people from an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background with complex needs
- You have experience with community members who have had contact with the justice system
- You have strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and community
