**About the role**

Our **Fostering Young Lives and Family Preservation Programs** engage community members through a variety of programs designed to support children and their carers/birth parents to live their best life

As our **Support Worker** you will possess a multifaceted skill set with varied responsibilities to ensure our service runs effectively. This position supports our **Fostering Young Lives and our Family Preservation Teams**, with your time being split between the two.

**Duties**

Supporting the operations team and family assessment teams you will:

- Support Case Managers and other senior staff to coordinate contact visits and contact schedules, conduct contact visits and complete contact visit reports, as required and applicable to the service.
- Supervise contact between birth parents and children ensuring that contact is safe and appropriate and complete notes regarding contact following the session.
- Coordinate and complete Home Safety Checks and other safety risk assessments, with the support of senior staff when required.
- Transporting children in Out of Home Care to and from various appointments.
- Support the Family Assessors in completion of their kinship assessments, including attending some visits and ensuring that all information is correctly uploaded to the data system.
- Support Family Assessors in relation to their restoration work with birth parents, including supervising/observing family time and following up on administrative tasks.
- Provide administrative support to Casework team with tasks such as minute taking, booking appointments, tracking financial expenses etc.

**Skills and Experience**
- **Certificate III or IV in community services, social work, youth work or similar **and
- Experience in working with children and families.
- Great people skills and the ability to create strong working relationships with people from all walks of life.
- A natural team player with the ability to balance competing priorities and work independently.
