This organisation is a prominent global private equity firm, an established leader in their sector, and a trusted partner for some of the world's most notable hospitality brands.

**The Role**

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this newly created contract will encompass both the day to day operations of payroll, but equally taking a consultative approach to review the entire function to provide recommendations for best practice. Working closely with your payroll officer and the external payroll provider you will ensure that approximately 900 permanent and casual staff are paid correctly monthly and bi weekly, ensuring all new hires, terminations, tax reporting, award interpretation and payroll reconciliations are accurately attended to in the given timeframes.

**Responsibilities**
- Calculate all employee salaries, taxes, superannuation, leave entitlements and workers compensation payments.
- Collaborate with the finance team to facilitate preparation and reconciling for payroll entries, addressing any disparities.
- Improve the effectiveness of payroll services by ensuring correct calculations of employee data, managing payroll obligations.
- Initiative solutions based conversations concerning productivity reporting with each site, taking proactive measures to assess and review all processes and procedures for best practice
- Ensure rigorous adherence to all applicable local, state and federal regulations governing financial, payroll, tax filing and reporting obligations.
- Proficiently manage and optimize performance of the outsourced payroll provider,
- Provide advice and clarification to all payroll queries in a timely manner

**About You**
- Essentially you have a proven track record in managing large scale payrolls both inhouse and working with external outsourced payroll providers
- Ideally you may have worked through payroll system implementations understanding the nuances of working with various payroll systems.
- Your style is consultative and collaborative and you are continually looking to streamline and improve processes.
- Your analytical and customer centric approach, will see you engage with your stakeholder group in a very fluent and collaborative manner
- You are an SME in award interpretation across various awards, however if you have worked with the hospitality award this would be advantageous.
- A strong working knowledge of HRIS and excel is paramount.
