Campbelltown, Australia Uniting Full time

Full time Perm role, Campbelltown as a base with Flexible working arrangements
- Community led role, your opportunity to make a difference
- Exceptional support in place to build your capacity to enrich and encourage children and young people to THRIVE
- Competitive salary with generous NFP salary packaging

Rare opportunity to make a difference to young people in their 'middle years' (aged 8-14)in the Campbelltown and Penrith Community.

**Uniting NSW. ACT** in conjunction with the **Stronger Smarter Institute** **(SSI)** and the **Australian Research Alliance for Children and Young** **People (ARACY)** are proud to advertise this brand new, exciting role for a strategy coordinator to be responsible for the ongoing strategic networking and growth of **'Maximising the Middle'**, a unique initiative commencing in Campbelltown and Penrith.

**Our aspiration is to grow the initiative with young people and those important to them.**

We will start by strengthening school and community leader’s capabilities to design and implement impactful enterprises that value youth voice and youth leadership, using SSI’s and ARACY’s highly regarded leadership and well-being trainings - the Stronger Smarter Leadership Program and the Common Approach.

We also expect this will build an alliance of school and community leaders who we will support to build projects with young people that strengthen their abilities to thrive where they need this most.

**Is this for you?**

Your biggest challenge is to work with young people, schools, the program founders, and a wide variety of community partners to realise our aim to see young people in the middle years thrive.

This is about keeping all the moving parts of this initiative going in a strategic and coordinated fashion. You need to be comfortable with the ambiguity of building a program that emerges over time and undertaking a wide range of activities.

Liaising and having meaningful conversations with schools, political & organisational leaders, through to children and young people, is something you need to be comfortable with.

This is a role for someone enthused to be part of a start-up innovation, with multiple layers of accountability to the community and the founder group.

**The role, like the program, will change and grow over time.**

This is not for the faint hearted. You’ll be part of a very creative team of others doing similar work, yet you’ll also be a self-starter who is passionate to see children & young people thrive.

To help you gain a strong and definitive understanding of this wonderful NEW role you'll need to take a good 10 -15 minutes out of your day to digest the information we have provided in order for you to make a fully informed decision to throw your hat into the ring and apply

**This role MUST 'speak' to you**

**You will be legally employed by Uniting, yet accountability will be community facing.**

As a staff member of Uniting, you will celebrate diversity and welcome all people regardless of lifestyle choices, ethnicity, faith, sexual orientation, or gender identity

**Ready to apply?** Applications will be reviewed without delay. Cover letters detailing why this role appeals will be looked upon favourably
