**Position Description**:
We are Fonterra, one of the world's largest dairy nutrition companies. Here in Australia, we collect milk from Aussie Farmers across Victoria and Tasmania, and our manufacturing sites turn this into the dairy foods you know and love in our supermarkets, including Perfect Italiano, Mainland, Western Star, and Bega. We also sell dairy ingredients to many of the world's leading food companies and partner with food services businesses across the country to get dairy foods into chefs' hands.
As a Co-operative created and owned by New Zealand dairy farmers, our collaboration, innovation, and passion have enabled us to share the goodness of our dairy with the world. We're committed to caring for the land, our animals, and every drop of milk, producing nutritious food with safe, quality ingredients loved here in Australia and around the world.
As part of the Fonterra Co-op, you'll be solving for a better future alongside a team connected by solid values as we strive to be a leader in dairy sustainability, dairy innovation and science, with a focus on New Zealand milk.
When you join Fonterra, you'll open yourself to a career of opportunities where you can grow with us by developing your skills, sharing your knowledge, and exploring diverse career paths that ignite your passions.
**About Us**
At Fonterra Australia, our Quality and Food Safety team ensures every product meets rigorous standards. We are a close-knit group committed to excellence. As a team member, you'll shape and maintain robust quality systems, conduct audits, and drive continuous improvement. If you're passionate about quality assurance and food safety, join us in delivering excellence.
**About the role**
Fonterra is seeking an experienced Corporate Quality Manager, based at our Richmond Head Office. This role provides quality assurance leadership and expertise across our eight manufacturing sites in Victoria and Tasmania, ensuring compliance with quality system standards and food regulation requirements.
As Corporate Quality Manager, you will be part of a small team of quality professionals dedicated to supporting both BAU and continuous improvement initiatives. Your role will be pivotal in embedding quality as a core part of Fonterra’s business culture and ensuring third-party manufacturers and suppliers meet Fonterra’s high-quality standards.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Develop and maintain quality standards, systems, and processes to drive compliance and performance
- Conduct internal, third-party, and supplier audits, ensuring non-compliances are identified and corrective actions implemented
- Lead the investigation and resolution of major quality issues and complaints
- Analyse and report on quality trends, proactively identifying areas for improvement
- Collaborate with Technical and Operations teams to enhance processes and ensure they meet quality standards
- Provide quality support for key projects, engaging stakeholders to influence and drive quality improvements
**About You**
This role requires a strong background in food quality assurance, ideally within the dairy industry, combined with the ability to engage and influence key stakeholders across multiple sites. You will need to navigate complex quality challenges, ensure compliance, and drive continuous improvement.
**Additionally, you will bring**:
- Strong stakeholder engagement and account management skills to effectively collaborate across sites and suppliers.
- Dairy industry experience strongly desired—a deep understanding of dairy quality assurance is a major advantage.
- A degree in Food Technology or Food Engineering.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a quality assurance role within the food industry.
- Expertise in food safety systems, quality management, and applied microbiology.
- A strong desire for experience or background in microbiology
