As the Operations Supervisor you’ll play a vital role by leading a team of 40+ drivers to help provide valuable waste management services to our customers. Being highly organised you’ll drive the team with strong safety values and people management skills.

You’ll use your positive attitude and natural ability to solve problems to great effect in this role. Did we mention no two days are the same?

**Key Responsibilities**

You will be responsible for managing the safe and efficient operations of our residential waste and recycling collections in the heart of the Illawarra region.

Specific duties include but are not limited to:

- Supervising the site and drivers team to achieve required objectives
- Organising trucks, contractors, rosters and labour hire
- Ensuring allocation of work is conducted in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible
- Effective communication with customers, drivers and sub-contractors to ensure collection services and equipment deliveries exceed customer expectations
- Supporting maintenance requirements of the fleet
- Managing the collection of operational data
- Workplace inspections at site, toolbox talks, hazard alerts etc
- Ensuring that all WH&S, fatigue management, organisational policies, procedures and local laws are understood and complied with by both internal staff and subcontractors

**Who you are**

You will bring the following to this role:

- At least 5 years of prior supervisory in an operational and/or logístical role
- Thorough knowledge of local roads and traffic patterns in Illawarra area and surroundings
- Strong understanding of truck and equipment safety
- Excellent planning and communication (written and verbal) skills
- Sound decision making skills
- Self-motivation and the ability to work independently
- Good computer skills, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Background in operations, waste and recycling, transport/logistics with experience is desirable
