**Position Information**:
Bombala Public School is nestled on Ngarigo land in the picturesque town of Bombala and is a co-educational school that serves approximately 110 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. The student body represents a rich cultural and socio-economic diversity contributing to a dynamic and inclusive school community with approximately 11% of our students identifying as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. Bombala Public School has a committed school community that supports the school’s effective open-door policy.

The school places a strong emphasis on literacy and numeracy programs across all year groups with high-quality instructional delivery being underpinned by evidence-based teaching strategies and practices, all of which are supported through our explicit high-impact Professional Learning agenda. The school provides a very successful extensive tiered support program and literacy intervention program which are incorporated into our daily practice. All students benefit from a range of extra-curricular programs and initiatives across the school ranging from school band and choir, sporting competitions and several wellbeing programs to promote holistic and authentic connections to the school as well as having a successful student leadership and rewards program in place. A principle of equity for all students to participate in school life is upheld and recognised across the school fostering overall student success.

**Selection Criteria**:

- Demonstrated highly effective educational leadership skills, with a proven ability to lead change, implement and manage a rigorous school improvement agenda
- Demonstrated experience as an instructional leader who inspires staff to build a culture of expertise in classroom practice with a clear focus on explicit teaching, literacy and numeracy
- Demonstrated capacity to lead meaningful, evidence-based wellbeing programs for staff and students that support inclusive practices and promote positive school culture
- A proven ability to build and sustain strong partnerships with parents/carers, community members, external stakeholders and key groups including the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community to foster and sustain a positive school culture for all stakeholders

**General Selection Criteria**:

- High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
- Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
- High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
- Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
- Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
- Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
