**About the role**:
As an Analyst in Financial Accounting and Reporting, you’ll become a valued member of our team, dedicated to crafting the Corporation’s comprehensive financial reports with meticulous care, ensuring they meet all statutory requirements. You’ll also play a key role in upholding our financial policies.

We’re on the lookout for someone who thrives in a lively, ever-changing environment and approaches challenges with a positive, ‘can-do’ spirit. Given the exciting demands of this role, especially during the half-year review of accounts and preparations for external audits, you’ll primarily be based full-time at JTWC. However, we do offer flexibility whenever possible to support your work-life balance.

If you’re driven to make a meaningful contribution, you’ve come to the right place.

**What the role will involve**:

- Preparing the daily banking reconciliation ready for end of day review.
- Assisting in the preparation of the Corporation’s monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Undertaking detailed analysis and perform monthly reviews and checking functions to ensure that all accounting records are correctly kept, balanced and reconciled.
- Identify, calculate and control clearing accounts to prepare monthly journal adjustment entries.
- Providing financial and accounting services within Finance, incorporating all budgeting, forecasting, analysis and commentary related to the balance sheet accounts.
- Assist the Asset Accounting team with processing asset transactions - capital project expensing, asset settlements, asset retirements, asset transfers, fleet acquisitions, developer handover works, and accelerated depreciation calculations.
- Analyse fixed asset data and create ad hoc reports and trend analysis when requested by stakeholders, as well as provide commentary on the relevant outcomes.
- Being an active part of the year-end audit experience by assisting with auditor requests and queries related to the balance sheet accounts and supporting detail.
- Assist with the ad-hoc queries that come into two shared inboxes within Financial Accounting.

**Key skills and experience**:

Your critical thinking and analytical skills will be key in navigating our diverse reporting requirements. Effective communication is a must, as you’ll be engaging with various stakeholders. If you are interested in the above opportunity, please submit a covering letter and resume that best demonstrates your skills and experience as well as your ability to meet the requirements of the role.

As part of the recruitment process you may be required to complete pre-employment screening which may include a medical, qualification check, police clearance and Australian working rights check.
