**Who we are**
The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water’s (DCCEEW) Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Division provides a range of essential advice and services enabling the department to deliver its strategic objectives. Our advice and services cover financial management, the budget process, procurement, travel, property and protective security.

The Budget Policy and External Budgets Branch supports the delivery of the Government's priorities for the Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (CCEEW) portfolio by:

- leading the Department's involvement in the Budget Process,
- providing informed and strategic advice to the Department's executive,
- partnering with policy areas to secure and manage Budget resourcing to deliver programs and services,
- responsibly managing the Department's Budget (expense and revenue) estimates,
- helping line areas navigate the Budget Process Operational Rules and costing processes.

The Budget Policy teams are the central point of contact for all Commonwealth Budget matters for the DCCEEW Portfolio. Key activities include working with departmental and portfolio agency policy partners to:

- provide advice on and coordinate all Budget processes and policy authorities, including central liaison with the Department of Finance, Treasury and the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet,
- support the Executive Board to develop the Budget strategy that is put forward to Ministers, in consultation with the Strategic Policy Division,
- develop the Portfolio Budget/MYEFO Submissions, New Policy Proposals (NPPs), Portfolio Budget Statements and other Budget briefing and communication products.

**The Job**

**What we are looking for**

**Knowledge and experience**
- Knowledge and experience with the Australian Government Budget process is desirable.
- Experience managing a small team.

**Eligibility and other requirements**

**Citizenship** - To be eligible for employment with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water you must be an Australian citizen.

**Security Clearance** - This position re
