
Production Manager

**Position Overview**
The Production Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing all aspects of our recycling plant's production operations. This position demands strategic thinking, strong leadership, and a genuine commitment to safety and environmental sustainability. The Production Manager will be responsible for optimising plant efficiency, ensuring stringent quality control, driving continuous improvement, and leading a high-performing team to achieve operational and business objectives.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Plan and coordinate production activities, considering factors such as output quality and quantity, labour requirements, cost optimisation, and adherence to business objectives.
- Manage and control daily production operations, ensuring compliance with established quality procedures and safety protocols.
- Oversee plant maintenance scheduling, optimise operating hours, and manage resource allocation for tools and parts to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Monitor production output and associated costs, implementing process adjustments to maximise efficiency and minimise waste.
- Collaborate effectively with other managers to align production operations with broader business strategies and targets.
- Lead the acquisition and integration of new equipment and technologies to enhance plant performance and efficiency.
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely production reports, ensuring comprehensive documentation of processes and performance.
- Champion the implementation and ongoing management of occupational health and safety standards, fostering a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
- Provide effective leadership and direction to production staff, monitoring performance, delivering training, and cultivating a culture of teamwork and accountability.
- Other tasks as required from time to time
**Qualifications & Skills**
- Strong understanding of production processes, quality control methodologies, and operational efficiency principles.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams, fostering a culture of high performance and employee development.
- Comprehensive knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and a strong commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with staff, management, and external stakeholders.
- Strategic thinking abilities and a proactive approach to implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with a focus on cost reduction and productivity enhancement.
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
