The Family and Community Engagement Worker is pivotal to Goodstart achieving its vision through our Increasing Access and Participation Project. This role is responsible for supporting Goodstart Centres to deliver high quality, inclusive early learning and care for children and families experiencing significant disadvantage. This will be achieved by forming strategic partnerships with Children, Families, Community Organisations, Local Elders, Community Groups, Schools, Local Goodstart Centres, and other Service Providers.

The role will be responsible for building strong internal and external relationships with families, social and community support networks and navigating the service system to plan for and respond sensitively to families experiencing hardship. In addition, the role will need to advise, coach and share knowledge with Centres on how to recognise and respond to vulnerability, abuse and / or neglect, and advocate for children and families.

The ability to undertake State based metropolitan and regional travel is necessary in this role.

**Your Impact**:
Navigate systems and assist in connecting children and families to Early Childhood Education and Care
Monitor, deliver and communicate outcomes as required by the Increasing Access and Participation Project
Build respectful relationships with children and families and use internal / external networks to ensure ongoing support, hold and attend meetings with families and centres
Lead, motivate and deliver personal development for Centre based staff
Implement effective communication strategies to meet the needs of families
Lead and communicate change initiatives to ensure consistency across the State

**You’ll bring to the table**:
A Bachelor of Early Childhood, Social Work or similar / equivalent experience
Must have comprehensive knowledge of the child and family service system and proven skills in navigating these to deliver programs and services.
Experience in leading change in education, health or community service is desirable
