Duties and responsibilities we'll trust you with
- Contributing to a positive and safe work environment by modelling conduct that is culturally capable, inclusive, respectful and ethical
- Delivering high quality, inclusive, creative and engaging programs onsite, online, to public libraries or Indigenous Knowledge Centres while meeting State Library's service commitments
- Participating in one of the high performing Public Libraries & Engagement teams in the development and delivery of programs and events while ensuring professional and responsive services to clients. This includes undertaking day to day work, achieving key service objectives and meeting organisational priorities
- Providing project management and support in the delivery of programs and events. This includes supporting the team on proposals, design and production while coordinating promotion, sourcing of supplies and resources as well as meeting budgetary requirements. This also includes supporting the team in research, justification, implementation and/or installation and the development of supporting materials
- Supporting the implementation of program strategies and objectives to promote State Library resources and services ensuring they are creative, interactive and innovative. This includes designing, developing and implementing key program tasks and schedules to ensure effective program and event management
- Reviewing, evaluating and reporting on current programs to ensure they meet State Library's service delivery targets. This includes measuring client satisfaction levels, attendance quotas, quality standards and operational objectives
- Maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external clients as well as local networks, public library staff, industry, government and external suppliers that support and enhance program delivery while ensuring
- Ensuring content is targeted, relevant and appropriate for the community and audience. This includes researching community needs, demographic and statistics, trends in library services - internationally, nationally and locally as well as researching local and/or regional history to provide cohesive program delivery
- Participating in internal committees, projects and working groups while collaborating with other teams across State Library. This includes providing high quality external stakeholder engagement to diverse communities of interest ensuring State Library is represented in various forums including working with clients across different levels and roles
- Contributing to the team annual program schedule and participating in the Branch planning process to ensure that relevant, appropriate and meaningful programs are delivered to public library communities
- Contributing to business improvement activities ensuring relevant policies, procedures and guidelines meet best practice and State Library requirements. This includes a continuous improvement cycle for feedback, raising concerns and generating solutions
- Working effectively with colleagues and peers while contributing to a productive and positive work environment in times of change. This includes being a proactive member of the Public Libraries & Engagement Portfolio and providing supervision, guidance and/or mentoring to Program Assistants and/or volunteers ensuring they are included, supported and well-informed
- Participating in, contributing to and/or managing financial, human resource and/or ICT responsibilities as per the organisational delegations.
