The AO5 Program Officer will operate within a small high-performance team focused on delivering targeted and innovative strategies, solutions and outcomes aimed to improve, reform and transform health and safety across QPS' diverse workplaces and workforces. Your success will not only rely on your technical WHS sills but also your strategy and project management capabilities. You are a natural 'people person' and are geared to problem solve through effective engagement of stakeholders and prefer highly collaborative 'safety by design' approaches.
The Program Officer is part of the centralised QPS Safety Group which includes senior principal and manager level WHS practitioners. There are distinct career paths within the Safety Group enhanced by further opportunities to consider moving across to related areas within health and wellbeing, and elsewhere within the Service, depending on your qualifications and experience.

**The core capability requirements for this role are**:

- Support and contribute to the design, development, delivery and evaluation of evidence-based programs and activities across all levels of Safety Strategy Division.
- Profile risk and impacts, analyse information from a range of sources, drawing logical and objective conclusions to provide advice for sustainable and risk-informed program delivery.
- Assist with the delivery and coordination of workshops, meetings, and other activities with internal and external stakeholders to meet Safety Strategy Division objectives.
- Support management and other areas of QPS by providing guidance on health and safety programs, priorities and actions.
- Assist with the preparation and review of briefing papers, submissions, reports and correspondence in accordance with organisational requirements.
- Liaise and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure customer requirements are met and business objectives are achieved.
- Contribute to project deliverables, monitoring and evaluating outcomes against performance targets to effectively support the development of planning and policy across Safety Strategy Division.
