Automation Project Controller

**Your role**

The scope of Project Banksia is to deliver compliant, fit for purpose manufacturing facilities and processes at a Melbourne greenfield site for Influenza Cell Culture Vaccine (FCC), Antivenom (AV), Q Fever Vaccine (QFV), Formulation, Filling, Inspection and Packaging (FFIP), in addition to other site facilities, with licensure targeted from 2026.

The Project Banksia team for the construction of our state-of-the-art Influenza cell-culture (FCC) manufacturing facility in Tullamarine (Victoria, Australia). Expected to be completed in 2026, this facility will be the only cell-based influenza vaccine manufacturing facility in the Southern Hemisphere and will also produce unique products important to Australia’s public health needs such as snake and spider antivenoms.

This role is responsible to support elements of the Execution Systems Team for the Banksia capital project. This will involve managing the Execution Systems budget, project plan and project risks. This role will be responsible for delivering a subset of these disciplinary areas in alignment with their expertise and experience.

**Your responsibilities**

**Project Execution**
- Coordinating /Overseeing the second phase of the project lifecycle (Construction, Commissioning, Qualification and Handover to Operations)
- Budget tracking including accruals, invoice payments and forecast
- Management and prioritiastion of Automation Engineers workload/deliverables
- Management of multiple vendors who are responsible for project delivery
- Statement of Project Scope
- Detailed Project Plan
- Detailed Schedule
- Project Risk, issue, assumptions, dependencies log
- Weekly updated dashboard reports or progress and issues
- Dashboard for tracking
- Progress of solution deliverables and approvals of those items as needed
- Progress of test planning for solution acceptance
- Progress of test execution for solution acceptance
- Progress of deployment planning for solution
- Progress of deployment execution for solution acceptance
- Progress of closeout of Solution Deployment Documentation
- Management and prioritisation of outstanding needs that were out of original scope
- Closeout of Project Documentation
- Prepare and execute project management documents (progress reports, design reviews etc)
- Actively contributing to value engineering initiatives
- Provide strong financial oversight to the Execution Systems
- Provide strong Project Management leadership and direction for Execution Systems team
- Collaborate with others to contribute to a high performing culture, with good engagement levels. Lead by example with behaviour that aligns with company values.
- Develop and implement Project Banksia Operational Readiness SMART workplan objectives aligned with business strategy and deliverables
- Assist management of cost drivers across the Execution Systems team to ensure an efficient, improvement focussed operation.

Your experience
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant Engineering field
- 8 years' in engineering or construction project management
- Budget tracking including accruals, invoice payments and forecast
- Financial experience in managing budgetary responsibilities
- Project management skills with the ability to lead and deliver projects ( > 20 million AUD)
- 5 years’ experience in Tier 1 Projects
- A good understanding of quality, risk and contract management processes and procedures
- A demonstrated ability to lead and work closely with multiple stakeholders to deliver highly complex projects
- Experience in managing teams responsible for creating interfaces between SAP, MES and Glims
- Experience with managing a team responsible for the design and implementation of middleware solutions
- Well-developed regulatory and compliance code understanding in respect to the manufacturing/production and engineering environment
- Ability to understand “the big picture” and approach problem solving in a proactive consultative manner
- Understanding of the process and engineering systems within the Pharmaceutical Industry
