Funds in Court (FIC) is a self-funded division of the Court, whereby all funds paid into Court are held, invested, and administered by the Senior Master, who is an Associate Judge. The Senior Master holds funds, investments, and assets, principally for persons under disability.

**About the Role**

The Client Liaison Officer [CLO] is a member of Client Services and is responsible for providing high quality customer service and investigating matters relevant to persons with a disability. The CLO provides specialist advice and information on client needs, advocates for them and their carers and links clients to relevant services and agencies as appropriate. The position reports to the Client Services Manager via the Team Leader - Client Liaison Services and is responsible for a portfolio of client files.

Key accountabilities include:

- Visiting clients of the Office and their carers, in their own homes throughout Australia, to effectively investigate matters concerning independent living skills, accommodation issues, emotional and physical wellbeing and support requirements
- Providing authoritative reports with considered recommendations to assist with decision making in relation to the effective use of client funds to meet their ongoing needs; with specific focus on those clients who are victims of crime, to facilitate requests to access their funds in Court
- Investigating and assisting in the management of situations requiring crisis care and counselling and make recommendations regarding financial and policy implications where appropriate
- Undertaking research into the level, provision and access of relevant services provided to clients and their families by government, non-government, private service providers and community services. Identifying new services available and their potential impact on the clients and assisting clients in accessing these services where required.

**About You**
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, particularly of the Supreme Court Act 1986, Trustee Act 1958, the Guardianship and Administration Act 2019, the Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities Act 2006, of the Rules of Court, as they impact upon the administration of funds in Court for persons under disability
- Familiarity with the National Standards for Disability Services
- Experience in the human services field including the provision of services to meet the needs of clients with ABI, mental health issues, substance abuse issues and survivors of trauma is highly desirable
- Ability to have difficult conversations whilst being sensitive to client needs
