We have an exciting opportunity for Aboriginal Research Officer(s) to join our Business Development, Research and Evaluation team at Ruah.
The role provides an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to Ruah and achieve real impact in the community for Aboriginal people. Your work will inform the way we support Aboriginal people - through evolving practice, contributing to service design, and providing guidance on the way we measure and evaluate our services.
Working within a supportive, creative, and inclusive team, you will help us embed an Aboriginal-world view across our research, evaluation, and business development activities.
The role is based in the Perth Metro area (currently based in Subiaco) with a requirement to visit different Ruah office locations as applicable - we’d love for you to get to know our services, sites and the people of Ruah
**What we are looking for?**
The Aboriginal Research Officer(s) will support Ruah across a range of service enhancement and evaluation projects.
Experience of program evaluation, Aboriginal engagement, research and data sovereignty will be highly regarded.

**What do we offer?**

- Level 3 of the SCHADS award $67, 479 - $72,355 pro rata depending on experience
- 16 weeks paid parental leave, with flex to take at 32 weeks half-pay (uniquely, new staff can access 4 weeks paid parental leave after just 6 months’ service).

- Salary packaging up to $15,900.

It is expected that the successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Meet the 50D Equal Opportunity requirements.
- Willingness and ability to work within and contribute to the vision, mission, core values and the guiding principles of the organisation.
- Knowledge and understanding of diversity, gender and social inclusion, particularly Aboriginal culture.
- Research experience - contributing to and/or leading research projects.
- Good communication skills, including listening and interpreting information and developing written and/or visual presentation content.
- Excellent relationship building skills with demonstrated ability to contribute confidently to a team, the organisation and community stakeholders.
- Ability to use initiative and work with mínimal supervision.
Desired:
- An undergraduate degree in a related area.
- Experience or familiarity with Indigenous research, and a genuine interest in improving outcomes for Aboriginal people in Western Australia.
- Experience contributing to the monitoring and evaluation community programs that support Aboriginal people.
