The Raine Medical Research Foundation has a strong reputation among researchers and partners for its robust, equitable, and transparent funding processes. To date, the Foundation has distributed more than $60 million to support the very best medical research in Western Australia and continues to invest over $3 million annually in the health and medical research sector.
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional who takes pride in delivering high-quality work and can manage a range of responsibilities — from administering the Raine Foundation's research funding programs and coordinating committees, to evaluating program impact, preparing stakeholder reports, implementing new funding initiatives, and crafting compelling research impact communications.
About the role
Under the direction of the Director you will:
- Proactively coordinate, manage and execute the end-to-end administration of the Raine Foundation's research funding programs, including managing applications, developing and updating funding guidelines, conducting eligibility checks, identifying expert reviewers, assessing project reports and acquittals, processing payments and undertake ongoing reporting.
- Manage and administer funding agreements and variations, and progress reporting for various stakeholders.
- Provide expert guidance using sound judgement to researchers and stakeholders on research funding programs and agreements.
- Evaluate and report on research performance and on the impact of Raine's funding programs.
- Prepare reports which includes financial reporting and budgets.
- Write research stories and impact narratives highlighting research funded by the Foundation, for use in annual reports and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Ensure high quality record keeping practices are accurately maintained, in line with required standards and procedures.
- Coordinate and represent the Raine Management Office on Raine's Research Advisory Committees.
- Develop, and review operational procedures to ensure ongoing robust and efficient work place processes.
- Undertake website content and social media updates.
- Assist with the execution of Raine Foundation events.
- Other duties as required.
About you (selection criteria)
- Substantial and extensive program management and/or research funding administration skills and experience, including contract management, policy development, reporting, and using relevant management systems.
- Experience in writing across diverse domains, including preparation of reports, proposals, position papers, impact narratives, agendas, minutes, and communication material.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain accurate financial records, with experience in administrative tasks such as invoice processing, record keeping, and preparing financial reports.
- Experience providing executive support on Committees or Boards.
- Experience in implementing strategic initiatives and program development.
- Knowledge and demonstrated expertise in understanding of Australian medical research funding and policy desirable.
- Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency.
- Health or medical research qualifications and experience desirable.
