**About the Role**:
The world faces a critical challenge to respond effectively to the risks of climate change. These risks are clear and pressing. BHP has a strategic approach to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to net zero within our operations by 2050 and to work with customers and suppliers to support their own emissions reductions, consistent with the ambition of pursuing net zero in our value chain.

The Specialist Performance & Reporting is accountable for supporting the Strategic Services team to manage and deliver reporting, analysis and improvement across the Minerals Australia Operational Decarbonisation Program (scope 1 & 2 emissions).

The role will report directly to the Lead Performance Reporting and Analysis and will be responsible for:

- Setting up and collating monthly reporting including performance boards and associated commentary
- Communicating performance and analysis outcomes with the wider team
- Defining performance metrics including metric intent, definition, targets and assumptions. Identifying and verifying data sources and automating collation of metrics as far as possible
- Maintaining the reporting calendar, reporting processes, work instructions and external reporting schedules
- Implementing a quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) processes for all external reporting and presentations and participating in QA / QC routines as required
- Identifying performance gaps and facilitating the Strategic Services team to come up with actions to close the gaps
- Keeping the Strategic Services Teams and SharePoint pages up to date, and managing access requests
- Conducting Performance analysis and visualising outcomes for external routines such as Asset President or Executive Leadership Team updates
- Conducting competitor analysis including external benchmarking

**About You**:
You will be able to establish credibility through your technical ability, attention to detail, organisation, and excellent communication skills. An ability to constructively question ideas and results and build trusted relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders will be essential.
- Bachelor degree in a quantitative field
- Experience of delivering accurate reporting, analysis and meaningful commentary
- Excellent analytical skills which lead to the development of insights and recommendations
- Ability to communicate technical contents and complex ideas to non-technical audiences at all levels
- Excellent organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines across different time horizons
- Experience in metric and target design
- Experience in delivering improvement programs including management of change, tracking actions and assessing effectiveness of actions
- Ability to perform data quality and data sense checking with good attention to detail
- Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Experience with visualisation software (e.g. Spotfire, Power BI) or a willingness to learn
