**About Abyss**
At Abyss, we're on a mission to transform asset integrity management for industrial operations through intelligent, user-centric digital products. Our platform empowers clients to manage complex inspection data, prioritize maintenance, and extend asset life—all with confidence and clarity.
As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Product Designer who can help shape the future of our tools, with a strong focus on designing seamless and intuitive user experiences in a complex domain.
**Position Summary**
As a Creative Technology Specialist at Abyss Solutions, you will design, produce, and manage multimedia content across digital platforms to enhance brand presence, streamline internal communications, and drive engagement. You will also support the optimisation of digital tools, enabling knowledge-sharing, organisational planning, and content-driven enablement across departments.
This is a cross-functional role that blends creative production, UX, digital strategy, and systems thinking — playing a central part in how Abyss communicates both externally and internally as we scale.
**Key Responsibilities**
**1. Multimedia Design & Content Development**
- Design and develop digital assets: animations, video, audio, graphics, and interactive content
- Maintain and optimise the Abyss website
- Manage multimedia content libraries and asset storage systems
- Support marketing and business development with asset creation, content creation and internal as well as external communications.
**2. Digital Communications, Branding & Visualisation**
- Develop and deliver consistent, brand-aligned communication materials
- Produce visually compelling presentations, reports, and internal comms content
- Design data visualisations, infographics, and interactive dashboards to simplify complex ideas and support decision-making
- Collaborate with product, ops, and leadership to translate and aggregate technical ideas into more manageable packages
- Maintain internal knowledge platforms
- Support social media and employer branding through multimedia storytelling
- Track engagement and performance metrics to guide content optimisation
**3. Platform Enablement, Process Optimisation & Systems Integration**
- Manage digital tools for content creation, collaboration, and knowledge management
- Create scalable templates and visual systems to support repeatable workflows (e.g. onboarding, OKRs, training)
- Project management, control and enforcement of technology-related projects such as security, hosting infrastructure, space allocation, user access, business continuity, website backup, and disaster recovery planning
- Build and maintain custom automations or integrations between systems using APIs or low-code tools (e.g. Zapier, Make, Retool, etc.)
- Partner with People & Culture to deliver culture, recognition, and internal communications campaigns
- Support strategic reporting assets (dashboards, visual insights, etc.)
- Facilitate the development of a digital learning library to promote internal training and customer education
**Required Skills & Experience**
- 5+ years of experience in multimedia, digital communications, or content systems — ideally within a startup or fast-scaling environment
- Proven ability to operate across creative and technical domains, balancing hands-on production with strategic thinking
- Demonstrated experience designing and deploying content across web, mobile, and social platforms
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop) and digital collaboration tools (e.g. ClickUp, Confluence, Canva, Miro)
- Strong understanding of UX, responsive design, accessibility, and basic web development principles
- Comfortable working in a global team across multiple time zones, with excellent asynchronous communication skills
- Experience building and maintaining visual dashboards, data storytelling tools, or interactive infographics
- Familiarity with CMS and internal platforms (e.g. WordPress, Google Sites), and optional experience with low-code tools or API integrations (Zapier, Make, Retool, etc.)
- Familiarity with tools such as HubSpot, Xero, and Mosaic, and a general aptitude for learning business platforms
- Adaptable, detail-oriented, and able to manage shifting priorities with autonomy
**Desirable**
- Experience in B2B, robotics, or technical industries
- Basic HTML/CSS knowledge
- Interest in systems/process design or org development
- Familiarity with Figma, Sketch, or other product design tools
**Why join Abyss?**
- Work on meaningful problems that impact critical industries.
- Be part of a growing, supportive, and ambitious product team.
- Shape the future of our design culture and practices.
- Competitive salary and benefits.
