**About the Role**

The Development Compliance Officer will monitor, advise and enforce planning and building legislation, regulations, codes and standards. The Officer will work closely with developers, property owners and occupiers to ensure compliance with planning and building approvals, conduct site inspections and handle breaches. This role will involve representing the City in legal proceedings, managing necessary notices and prosecutions and providing technical advice. Additionally, you'll contribute to policy development, process improvements, and foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to maintain a high standard of customer service.

**About you**

**To be successful in this role, you will possess the following essential requirements**:

- Tertiary qualifications in either planning, building or compliance related discipline and/or demonstrated experience in a similar role
- Current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence
- White card or ability to obtain
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including presentation techniques and report writing
- Experience with the practices and processes associated with the issue of notices, infringements and complaints, prosecutions and the collection and giving of evidence in both a court and at the SAT
