**Position Information**:
Blaxland High School is a comprehensive, co-educational school that services the educational needs of the community of the lower Blue Mountains from Lapstone to Warrimoo. Blaxland High School has a steady enrolment profile of around 1000 students, a support unit of 4 classes and around 4% of students identify as Aboriginal.
Blaxland High School enjoys a strong reputation in academic, sporting, performing and creative arts achievements. The school provide a broad curriculum, including academic extension programs, diverse electives and vocational programs.

**Selection Criteria**:
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
1. Demonstrated ability to gather, analyse and use student data to strategically plan and implement innovative whole school teaching and learning initiatives that improve teacher effectiveness to build student motivation and engagement and improve outcomes.
2. Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead and evaluate whole school programs that support student agency and promotes community engagement through a culture of respect, recognition, diversity and inclusion.
3. Passion and ability to be a dynamic member of the executive leadership team, to think critically and creatively to lead initiatives that address school strategic improvement measures.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
