The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical Lead (Mental Health) to join their mental health team. The Clinical Lead position is a pivotal role within RFDS and is primarily responsible for providing leadership and direction ensuring that day-to-day clinical work is carried out effectively.

**The Position**:
The position supports, promotes and evaluates clinical standards and processes of the mental health team and the coordination of service initiatives to improve mental health outcomes in rural and remote communities. This is done by providing:

- Leadership and direction in the strategic development and management of a comprehensive multidisciplinary rural and remote community mental health team.
- Effective management of specified human and physical resources.
- Leadership, direction and change management to facilitate the development and progression of mental health service planning through the implementation of the associated model of care, and relevant service policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Optimal clinical processes and individual client outcomes through the provision of one-on-one sessions in our remote clinics and through telehealth.
- Enhanced consumer and carer participation at all levels of the service.

You will have a vision for improving adult and youth mental health outcomes across Tasmania. You will have a collaborative leadership style with the capacity to motivate and guide a multi-disciplinary team. You will have considerable knowledge and experience in mental health service delivery. You will thrive in building strong stakeholder relationships and have a willingness to develop a vision for the mental health team.

**Essential Qualifications & Experience**
- Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Mental Health Nursing or Social Work.
- Current full registrations with (AHPRA) or eligibility for full membership with AASW.
- Human Services sector experience, with clients who have mental health needs.
- Strong leadership skills, including proven interpersonal skills in facilitation of effective team functioning, conflict identification and constructive resolution.
- Ability to effectively undertake a clinical a leadership role within multidisciplinary rural and remote community settings, including providing supervision and support to staff as required.
- The ability to oversee the mental health team in the effective management of human and physical resources.

**Compliance**
- Current Tasmanian Drivers Licence
- Working with Vulnerable People Card (NDIS Screening)
- Current National Police Check (Schedule A)
- Visa to work in Australia
- Current Vaccinations
- Registration/Membership with AHPRA/AASW

**Travel**

This role may require regular travel to rural communities and include some additional regional work where required, with a pool car provided for all travel. Flexibility by negotiation, may be required to work within future (or other) regions to meet growth needs or programs and service delivery.

The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) was officially formed in 1960 but has grown steadily from being a sole aeromedical service to now providing a professional and dedicated team who deliver a holistic health care service across most of the local government municipalities in Tasmania.

They work in partnership with general practitioners, allied health professionals and local service providers to deliver physical health and mental health programs, as well as an award-winning outreach dental program. They are one of six RFDS operating sections (Central Operations, QLD section, South Eastern section, Victorian section, Western Operations and Tasmania section) which make up RFDS Australia.
