**About the Role**:
Provide commercial and contractual support to the project teams and senior management on pre contract and post contract matters and issues. Promote, encourage and assist in implementing effective commercial (contractual and financial) practices.

**What you will do;**:
**Pre Contract (Tender)**:Where requested by the Senior Commercial and Risk Manager:

- Assist to develop the commercial strategy for a winning tender submission.
- Review terms, conditions and risks of proposed project supply chain partners.
- Assist in preparation TSA and CSA, Subcontract and Supply documents as required by the bid team / senior management and provide advice as to the most appropriate models required.
- Assist in preparing the contractual qualifications in consultation with key members of bid team/senior management/legal support including RFls to try and negate/reduce the need for qualifications in line with Corporate guidelines for a winning tender submission.
- Promptly provide responses to clients' commercial/contractual requirements pre and post submission of tender including, where necessary, negotiation of Head Contract terms and conditions.
- Ensure that, prior to signing, the Head Contract document provided by the Principal contains the correct information and details (including obtaining sign off from Pre Contracts staff as to the technical components)

**Post Contract (Delivery)**:
Where requested by the Senior Commercial and Risk Manager:

- Ensure project management, commercial team and all relevant project staff understand and comply with commercial requirements in contracts with customers and major/high risk subcontracts and consultants as per policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Assist in the resolution of subcontract negotiations (including high risk subcontracts) and any other subcontracts in accordance with company procedures
- Assist project teams to develop commercial strategies and mitigations to contractual risk items and where necessary, manage any developed strategy through to resolution.
- Investigation and management of contractual disputes & claims arising on projects and work together with project teams to develop and prosecute claims and disputes.
- Manage commercial issues and contract disputes and claims including SOPA adjudications and report on issues to senior management.
- Mentoring of project staff in regard to contractual issues and strategies etc.
- Lead identification, quantification and negotiation of head contract scope changes with the project staff and Client.
- Provide advice to site teams about contractual issues and implementation of documents e.g. subcontract conditions, SOPA, EOT, scope of works, contract interpretation, variations, claims, defects etc.
- Assist the project teams with head contract/subcontract variations and delay claims where required to maintain JH entitlements and enhance profit outcomes.
- Stakeholder management: Ensure that stakeholders are actively engaged and that beneficial relationships between the project and the client, subcontractors, community and other external parties are developed and maintained. Enhance business reputation.
- Financial management: Assist the projects to ensure strong contract, commercial and financial risk management and project reporting, accurate forecasting of both costs and revenue, take corrective action in line with authority and reporting frameworks and maximise the profit margin for the project

**What we are looking for;**:

- Bachelor degree or equivalent in Building, Engineering, Law, Commerce, Accounting, Quantity Surveying, Business or other associated disciplines
- 10 years’ + experience in commercial and contract administration gained on construction, engineering or associated projects.
- Demonstrated claims management experience
