**Legal Officer**
- Clerk Grade 3/4 with a salary range of $79,032 - $86,539 per annum plus superannuation
- Ongoing role based in The Rocks, Sydney CBD

**About the role**

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Officer to support our senior solicitors in providing legal advice, drafting contracts, managing procurement processes, and contributing to policy work. This is a unique opportunity to gain invaluable legal and policy experience while supporting key projects that drive the visitor economy in NSW.

As the Legal Officer, you will assist with a range of activities across legal, procurement, and governance functions.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Conduct research and analysis to help resolve legal issues and contribute to policy development.
- Monitor and report on project milestones to ensure deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Provide legal advice under supervision, referring complex matters to senior solicitors.
- Draft contracts and manage procurement processes, working closely with senior team members.
- Assist with various administrative activities within the legal, procurement, and governance teams.
- Collaborate across public sector agencies to support Destination NSW’s business outcomes.

Destination NSW is also the major investor in Business Events Sydney (BESydney) for the purpose of securing more international and domestic conventions, incentive travel reward programs, corporate events and exhibitions.

**About You**

You are a proactive individual with a keen interest in legal and policy work. You will have strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Your passion for contributing to impactful projects and your willingness to learn will set you apart in this role.

An essential requirement of this role is to have completed an undergraduate or post-graduate degree in law within the last 2 years, and admission to the Supreme Court to practice as a Solicitor.
