**About the role**:
Combine your passion and experience for Wind and Solar energy with your GIS expertise and be part of Origin’s transition to Renewables
Support and partner with key stakeholders to manage the collation, storage, manipulation, and presentation of project spatial data as required to enable the business to make informed decisions around project, environmental and community impacts as well as regulatory obligations.
**Why this role matters**:
- focussed on supporting the broader team through being the custodian of centralised project spatial data repositories and spatial information systems that can be used by the broader team for analysis, reporting and insights across the Asset Development and Construction business unit.
- Responsible for the storage, manipulation and presentation of data to ensure optimal outcomes for the business and enable effective story telling for informed strategic decision making.
- Communicate any risks or compliance issues to senior management to inform future Origin strategy
- Conduct data based assurance activities on behalf of the broader team including quality control assessments to verify that obligations in Project Management Plans and regulatory approvals are met, and where they are not, assist in development of action plans to close any systematic deficiencies
- Analyse project data from across Asset Development and Construction to inform the development of strategies and programs to manage risk and identify opportunities with a view to continual improvement.
- Build capability in utilisation and access to data tool with a view to developing self-serve solutions
**What will you bring?**
- tertiary qualifications in a relevant data science, spatial science, GIS, or compliance discipline are essential.
- An ability to bring your findings to life for key stake holders to understand
- Extensive experience in project data or special data focused role.
- Experience in working on energy projects with a focus on Solar, Wind and/or Gas gathering.
- 5 years plus working in a project data or spatial data focussed role as well as non-spatial data analysis (SQL/Phyton)
- Experience in Geospatial analytics; Remote Sensing or Big Data; SQL / Python; Tableau / PowerBI; ABS data bases or similar; Microsoft Excel
