**Who we are**
The Legal and Governance Division is responsible for legal services and advice, communications and media, governance and corporate support, as well as parliamentary, appointments and ministerial services. This includes the provision of strategic advice and services to the secretary, the executive and the business areas of the department. The division is managed by the Chief Counsel (First Assistant Secretary), and operates in a fast-paced, exciting environment. We facilitate excellent outcomes for our clients and focus on ensuring our staff are supported and suitably trained to be in the best position to take on the challenges of the work.
The Governance Branches are responsible for managing the workflow between the department and the responsible portfolio ministers, as well as providing them with practical support arrangements. A key deliverable is to establish and maintain strong relationships between ministers and their offices, the senior executive and the broader department.
**The Job**
Key duties will include:
- provision of day-to-day business and technical administration support to the department and the portfolio ministerial offices in relation to the Parliamentary Document Management System (PDMS) and administration of all configuration (i.e. user access, assurance groups etc).
- resolution management of system issues
- undertake and coordinate with end users and business areas, user acceptance testing for upgrades and new PDMS modules
- preparation of statistics, PDMS views and/or reports as requested
- provision of helpdesk services and management of the PDMS mailbox
- contribute to strategic planning and development of PDMS within the department
- provide backup support to Ministerial Office Support team on an ad hoc basis.
**Knowledge and experience**
Knowledge and understanding of Ministerial and parliamentary procedures would be beneficial.
