As our biosecurity officer, you will provide operational services that protect and enhance animal biosecurity and welfare in Queensland. With Queensland being affected by more biosecurity incursions than any other Australian state or territory, your efforts will be integral in helping the government prevent, respond to, and recover from biosecurity concerns that threaten our environment and economy.You will know you're achieving success in the role when you: - are dedicated to manufacturing Tick Fever vaccine to maintain Australian Pesticides Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) accreditation - accurately perform routine tasks in accordance with Standard operating procedures (SOP's) and ongoing compliance with relevant quality management system requirements - ensure assigned tasks are undertaken promptly and meet the project deliverables - are actively contributing as a member of a high-performing team. Mandatory qualifications - The successful applicant must hold a mandatory Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Biological Science from a recognised tertiary institution, or equivalent academic qualifications. Vaccination or immunity to Q Fever will be mandatory. Commitment to obtain vaccination or evidence of prior vaccination will be required prior to starting with Biosecurity Queensland< insert qualifications mandatory. For international qualifications, the applicant will need their qualification assessed, to determine comparability with the Australian Qualifications Framework. The Department of Employment, Small Business and Training can assist with these assessments for Queensland residents.Refer to the role description for more information about the role and requirements.
