Occupational Hygiene Technician – Brisbane / Townsville

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a talented Occupational Hygiene Technician to join our team based in either Brisbane or Townsville. As an Occupational Hygiene Technician, you'll get to put your skills to use in identifying and evaluating workplace hazards. You'll have the chance to add your unique flair while conducting assessments, inspections, measurements, and reporting all aimed at keeping the workplace compliant with relevant legislation and workers healthy.

Responsibilities

· Conduct workplace monitoring for hazards such as dust, noise, fumes, and other airborne contaminants

· Assist with risk assessments in the workplace for health hazards

· Accurately record and enter data collected

· Preparation of reports

Please note that the role of an occupational hygiene technician requires frequent travel, often to remote areas, for several days at a time. This part of the job, particularly at the beginning of your career can be daunting, however it is also the under-pinning of a career in occupational hygiene, and we do get to visit some amazing places, industries, and clients.

Skills

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Attention to detail

· A current open class drivers' licence

· Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word

· Full and unrestricted working rights in Australia

· Ability to build and nurture strong client relationships

Highly Regarded

· Possess a degree or post grad in Occupational Hygiene, Environmental Science, Science or another related field

· QLD Coal Board Medical, Standard 11, BSBWHS419

· A familiarity with relevant legislation and standards
