**About the Role**:
Reporting to the Chief General Manager, you will hold full accountability to lead the divisional risk and compliance team to support the division in complying with the organisation’s risk and compliance management framework, in identifying and managing risks and in promoting and strengthening the risk culture of the division and the enterprise.
**Other key aspects of the role**:
- Demonstrate thought leadership and influence across the division with proactive advice, review and challenge of the division’s approach to managing risk.
- Provide advice on the design, implementation and ongoing monitoring and maintenance of division-specific compliance and risk procedures, processes and controls in support of the above, monitoring business activities against defined risk appetite and escalating as required.
- Lead the team to communicate and advise divisional management of responsibilities as framework and risk owners, namely regarding risk identification, the implementation of risk controlling mechanisms, risk monitoring and continued compliance with local regulatory and Allianz standards.
- Lead the team to deliver control assurance testing in accordance with the enterprise wide integrated assurance plan maintained by Line 2.
- Drive the design and delivery of other targeted or thematic reviews in support of divisional management including framework and risk owners.
- Provide advice and guidance on the implementation of corporate compliance and risk frameworks and policies, liaising closely with Line 2 on all divisional-specific risk management and compliance matters, and escalate non adherence and/or delays in completing, updating and maintaining operational compliance plans, quarterly risk declarations, risk views and all key risk and control assessment activities.
- Lead the team to provide advice and insights on business solutions for implementing incoming regulatory change.
- Lead the team to investigate and report on framework deviations and breaches and, in the case of a material deviation or significant breach, engage Line 2 to jointly oversee remediation, identification of root cause and control strengthening.
**Important to your success**:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
- Extensive risk and compliance management experience for a complex, matrixed financial services (corporate) organisation.
- Extensive financial services risk and compliance experience in either a Line 1, Line 2 or Line 3 role.
- Demonstrated technical understanding of effective controls and how to assess and evidence design and operating effectiveness of controls.
- Ability to partner and collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders to establish strong professional relationships and influence outcomes including demonstrated ability to drive a strong risk culture.
- Demonstrated evidence of successfully leading high performing risk or compliance teams.
