**Location : The position is based at Narrabri Hospital. (Narrabri is a small country town of 8,000 people located on the Newell Highway in north-west country NSW, 600km from Sydney and 600km from Brisbane**

**About the role**:
A vacancy exists in the SydPath Narrabri Laboratory for a highly motivated Technical Officer with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team. Our progressive and innovative team offers development opportunities for our staff and a caring environment for the delivery of high quality patient centred care.

The successful applicant(s) will be expected to be able to be hands -on and proactive team player to be involved in all activities of Narrabri SydPath Laboratory.

The successful applicant will be expected to work both independently and collaboratively with the team.

The vacancy is open to Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens who hold a valid New Zealand passport, Australian permanent residents and those non-residents deemed by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship to be eligible to work in Australia only.

**Selection Criteria**
- Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia
- Have appropriate tertiary qualifications in a scientific or technical field relevant to the practice of pathology.
- Well - developed interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with clinical and laboratory staff ,personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment while working autonomously to deliver results with specified time frames.
- Willingness to participate in weekend and after hours on
- call roster and have a drivers Licence
- Willingness to relieve in the Moree Laboratory and perform other duties as required
- Computer literacy and experience in Venipuncture, Blood Bank serology, Haematology, Clinical Chemistry, Microbiology
