THE ROLE
The Principal Advisor is a key role within the Aboriginal Housing Unit and will be committed to improving housing outcomes for Aboriginal communities. Key functionalities of the role include leading a variety of projects and initiatives across Homes Victoria, that will require building strong partnerships across a wide range of stakeholders in partnership with the Aboriginal community, these include, but are not limited to:

- Drive key initiatives and priorities identified within Mana-na woorn-tyeen maar-takoort: Every Aboriginal Person has a Home, The Victorian Aboriginal Housing and Homelessness Framework.
- Lead a number of Aboriginal housing projects and initiatives and cross government relationships.

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
1. Manage and oversee the full life cycle of projects to meet departmental objectives including:
(a) Leading research, analysis and implementation of complex projects based on defined outcomes and outputs.
(b) Managing and overseeing projects or sub-projects and being accountable for the successful delivery and completion of the projects/sub-projects within resourcing, timeline and budget parameters.
(c) Monitoring and evaluating projects to ensure departmental objectives are met.
2. Provide leadership, guidance and authoritative advice to internal and external stakeholders and prepare and present detailed, comprehensive reports, ministerial briefs, cabinet and agency submissions on complex matters
3. Proactively build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate a partnership approach.
