**ABOUT THE ROLE**

**Origin is leading the transition to net zero through clean energy and customer solutions. Gas forms an essential part of the energy mix during the transition and Origin, via the Integrated Gas Business Unit, is continuing to invest in gas exploration and production throughout Australia.**

**The Non-Operated JV and Business Development team drives the value and performance of the APLNG business by safely optimizing production and lowering the cost of supply in APLNG’s non-operated joint ventures, and identifying, prioritising, and delivering value improvement opportunities across the entire APLNG portfolio.**

**The Principal Commercial Advisor - Business Development supports the APLNG business development activities managed by the team, with the aim of protecting and improving the value of the APLNG project, by originating new value delivery opportunities and progressing to execution the high value and/or strategic priorities.**

- Develop and maintain a pipeline of value opportunity leads using broad market knowledge and industry contacts
- Explain complex commercial and economic analysis to senior management to support informed decision making
- Develop negotiation strategies to enable APLNG to achieve preferred outcomes
- Establish a broad professional network to support outcome delivery

**To succeed in this role, you will have well-developed communication and influencing skills, with the capability to present confidently and persuasively to senior management and stakeholders. You will innovate and collaborate to develop new and existing business opportunities. Your leadership skills will set the standard for others to follow.**

**More about you**
- Experience in commercial value delivery, plus negotiating and managing complex commercial arrangements
- Ability to see the big picture and clearly communicate it to others
- Sound fundamental commercial background and an ability to identify value drivers and create value opportunities
- Application of energy industry knowledge to diagnose business strengths and weaknesses
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (Commerce, Economics, Finance, Science, Law, Engineering, Accounting) is desirable
