**About the role**

National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for a Project Officer to work as part of the team and contribute towards major infrastructure projects that promote the enjoyment and conservation of the natural environment, flora, fauna and Aboriginal heritage.

The role Provides diverse project management and related support services, including preparation of reports and briefs, coordinating resources, maintaining project documentation, implementing and monitoring project plans and contractors to deliver on ground works.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with the initiative, ability, and desire to work in a small, dynamic and productive team. Previous achievement in delivering infrastructure or construction projects within a natural resource setting or those with remote area logistics challenges will be highly regarded.

An understanding of environmental impact assessment processes and some public sector knowledge would be desirable.

**About you**

As a Project Officer you will be responsible for planning, approvals, stakeholder engagement, procurement, budget management, contract and staff supervision and delivering capital improvement works within required deadlines and to quality standards.

Strong attention to detail for governance across safety, cultural heritage, environment and project management will be key to your success in this role.

You will be adept at providing specialist advice and information to stakeholders on emerging project issues and to support project development and delivery in line with established plans, budgets, timeframes, policy environmental objectives and project priorities.

You will have the ability to undertake procurement and contract management, including contractor supervision of works projects.

To be successful in this role, you must have:

- Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent relevant working experience in project management.
- Experience in development and delivery of projects, including the development of project plans, monitoring of project timelines, budgets and reporting requirements, and contract administration.
