About the RACGP
The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) represents GPs across urban and rural Australia, supporting the nation’s health system for over 60 years by setting educational and practice standards and advocating for improved health and wellbeing. We promote the future of general practice through community-based training models, including the Australian General Practice Training Program, ensuring GPs are equipped to deliver quality, whole-person care and facilitating ongoing professional development while connecting GPs with communities nationwide.
About you
As a Medical Education Program Coordinator, you are an experienced and detail-oriented program coordinator with a deep understanding of workplace-based assessments (WBA) and external clinical teaching visits (ECTVs) within the context of vocational training for general practitioners (GPs). Your background demonstrates exceptional program and stakeholder management skills, enabling you to coordinate the planning, implementation, and delivery of key medical education initiatives at a national level.
You thrive in roles that require collaboration across diverse teams, both regionally and nationally, and are adept at anticipating change, managing risks, and ensuring seamless communication between stakeholders. Your impeccable communication skills, both written and verbal, are key to your ability to craft clear, concise documentation and support the successful rollout of programs.
With a strong commitment to continuous improvement, you are always looking for ways to enhance processes, streamline operations, and improve program outcomes. You are skilled at managing complex projects, driving change, and providing training and support to ensure teams understand and implement WBA activities effectively.
In addition, you bring an unwavering attention to detail, ensuring all administrative tasks, from document management to meeting coordination, are handled efficiently. Your ability to build and maintain strong relationships, both internally and externally, is central to your success in this role.
About the opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the coordination and delivery of the RACGP’s workplace-based assessment (WBA) program within the AGPT framework. Reporting to the National Medical Education Manager, you will work closely with the National Assessment Advisor (NAA) for WBA and the National Deputy Director of Training to support the national rollout of WBA and ECTVs.
You will be at the forefront of shaping key medical education initiatives by ensuring the seamless implementation of these programs across national, regional, and local teams. Your contributions will directly influence the quality and success of GP vocational training, helping to improve processes, documents, and communication tools that support WBA delivery.
This role offers a dynamic environment where you’ll collaborate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including medical educators, training coordinators, and GP Training Operations. You will also have the chance to lead continuous improvement initiatives, contribute to document quality control, and support the development of key systems like TMS and LMS, ensuring they are equipped to meet the demands of WBA activities.
If you are looking to make a meaningful impact within the medical education landscape, this opportunity allows you to leverage your program management expertise while supporting the professional growth of GPs nationwide.
