The EDB team is the public face of CommBank, delivering a seamless banking experience for the future, to our personal banking customers. We offer market-leading products and services, supported by some of the world's best systems and processes.
**Do work that matters**:
As a Chapter Area Lead, you will work closely with the EDB crew leads across the bank to help your team deliver best in class, world leading data science / AI capabilities across the RBS EDB and the Group.
Our strategic priorities focus on engagement and growth of the EDB business by delighting our customers in every touchpoint; providing brilliant service; and technology modernisation. This key role will play a crucial role to help the Group deliver on RBS and EDB priorities.

- Are confident in defining and owning capability uplift roadmaps to drive excellence and innovation across data science and decision science.
- Have built and led high performing, and engaged teams through a culture of knowledge sharing, connection and community.
- Are technical experts to lead their teams and work towards best solutions for the development of AI offerings.
- Are able to prioritise and be pragmatic on guiding the team and stakeholders on how to best use the team's skill to find solutions that bring better value to our customers and the business.
- Can leverage metrics and data to inform continuous improvement that will drive your teams forward with industry leading practices.
- Prioritise Business Outcomes and make informed decisions that support business goals.
**Tech skills**
We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don't expect you to know them all but having significant experience and exposure with some of these leadership attributes (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team.
- People Management, in specific managing Data Science and Technical teams.
- Naturally adept in building relationships and managing stakeholders
- Strong business acumen and growth mindset.
- Exceptional Statistical, Analytical and Data Science knowledge
- Knowledge of Generative AI solutions is desirable
