Purpose of Role

As Manager Development& Partnerships you will lead WIRE’s activities to create an integrated and highly strategic approach to the communications, fundraising, education and training priorities of WIRE.

This position will ensure that WIRE’s partnerships and growth agenda supports and delivers on our vision to create change that moves Australia towards being a more just and inclusive society where all people can thrive. The role will enable WIRE to maximise its impact and deliver on its vision by increasing our capability and financial sustainability in line with WIRE’s strategic direction.

You will report to the CEO and where necessary deputise for the CEO in their absence. You will be a member of the WIRE Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and will work closely and collaboratively to achieve the organisation’s strategic and operational objectives.

Manager Development & Partnerships will:

- Increase WIRE’s brand recognition in the community and with current and potential WIRE funders and supporters
- Identify and create opportunities for increased exposure and new business either through strategic partnerships, government-funded programs and services or through commercial fee-for-service opportunities
- Provide effective leadership, guidance, supervision and support to the Training Co-ordinator, the Communications Lead and Fundraising Lead
- Create and implement opportunities for WIRE to work towards its vision and mission with stakeholders in government, business, community and community services
- Support the relevant co-ordinators to manage the workload and wellbeing of their teams, ensure understanding of and adherence to WIRE’s principles, policies and procedures.
- Ensure all team member have the policies, processes and systems and supports in place successfully meet their contract, budget and compliance requirements
- In partnership with the relevant co-ordinators and the Manager Operations, identify, monitor and support the individual and team based professional development and performance needs of staff including ensuring the provision of regular supervision, mentoring and support
- Oversee relevant area budgets, monitoring and reporting performance to meet external contracts and internal frameworks, policies and procedures
- Negotiate preferred supplier arrangements and training procurement listings
- Support the training team to curate and build a range of quality training products that aligns to and or further enhances WIRE’s brand and enables the organisation to deliver on its purpose and that is inclusive of intersectional practice and is evidence informed.
- Be an effective and collaborative member of the WIRE Leadership team. Model and foster a positive workplace culture, demonstrate the WIRE guiding principles, actively support the safety and wellbeing of WIRE staff, volunteers and service users. Play a key role in implementing the WIRE Strategic Plan and in actively sharing the responsibility for leading the organisation.

About You:
The role requires a person with the ability to think strategically and oversee a diverse range of work areas, effectively lead staff, build and maintain positive relationships with all staff and stakeholders.

Key Selection Criteria
- Knowledge of and personal commitment to gender equity and intersectional practice
- Qualification in a relevant discipline (such as education, training, community, communications services, social enterprise or business management) OR equivalent relevant work experience.
- Demonstrate experience in business development and income generation, preferably with the not-for-profit sector
- Demonstrate strong organisational skills and experience of leading a variety of programs requiring day to day operation support and strategic leadership
- High-level of computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint) and ability to learn new systems (such as Customer Relationship Mana
