**Public Sector People** are working with a number of government organisations within Queensland.

I am looking for an AO6 Senior Project Officer, 3 month contract position with the possibility of extension or direct appointment. This role is in State Government.

This is a role that will suit someone who is looking to advance their career in a project support officer role. The role will be fast paced, with a combination of Administration, Decision making, supporting project managers/SME’s, and using a high level of autonomy.

**Responsibilities will include but not limited to**:

- Coordinating research and detailed analyses of project documentation to support effective project management and advice to management on issues such as budget risks, financial obligations and reporting deliverables.
- Developing and coordinating the maintenance of project budgets, including cost statement reports, budget movements, contingency management, financial commitments, expenditure incurred, billing and recovery of funding contributions, and risk management.
- Ensuring business information integrity, including interrogation and resolution of complex issues so that project data and financial data is effectively recorded, maintained and reported.
- Developing and maintaining productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Represent the department at interdepartmental and interagency meetings and forums as required.
- Prepare timely, high-level briefings, submissions, reports, correspondence and presentations on a range of tourism initiatives to Senior Management, the Minister, other government agencies and key stakeholders.

**About you**:

- You will have experience working within LOCAL, STATE or FEDERAL government.
- You will have worked on project or multiple projects previously.
- You have excellent attention to detail and pick up systems quickly.
- Make decisions in a timely manner, regardless of constraints such as limited information, tight deadlines and pressure (Timely Decision Making)
- You thrive under pressure; Stressful environments bring the best out of you.
- Demonstrate ability to initiate and manage tasks autonomously using highly developed organisational skills to plan and coordinate the achievement of quality outcomes within negotiated timeframes. (Functional/Technical).
- Communicate the information required for timely and accurate decision-making across a range of clients and stakeholders (Informing)
- Demonstrate communication, interpersonal and consultation skills to negotiate and positively influence outcomes with clients and stakeholders. (Customer focused)
