Territory Manager

**FUNDAMENTAL PURPOSE**:
To increase sales within the assigned territory and customer base, deliver maximum profitability by gaining additional sales of Protec Refinish and CPC Industrial products through effective management and growth of existing customers. Grow market share of Protec Refinish and CPC Industrial brands by winning new competitor accounts, arranging and coordinating demonstrations, and negotiating changeover deals where possible with clients based in assigned territor.
**PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES**:
- Contribute to ensuring that PPG meets EH&S regulations by adhering to guidelines & procedures for safe work practices & educating customers in the safe use of all PPG products.
- Increase market share through winning new competitor business.
- Achieve Monthly and annual sales targets and budgets.
- Manage and monitor debtors / Accounts receivable as per PPG accounts policy.
- Identify competitive brand users and formulate strategies to gain access to demonstrate the benefits of using PPG, Protec Refinish and Commercial Performance Coatings products.
- Arrange and supervise installation of mixing equipment / paint systems.
- Develop new business strategy through product and sales training
- Build strong relationships with PPG staff and Distribution Network
- Increase share of wallet, monitor, and measure growth of existing customers & distributors.
- Negotiate changeover and new business deals.
- Adhere to pricing initiative / policies to deliver the required profit contribution.
- Develop and maintain close links with key customers & industry groups.
- Identify opportunities & implement plans to grow in underrepresented segments & geographies.
- Market intelligence and competitor activity communicated accurately through timely submission weekly reports.
- Timely submission of assigned reporting and participation & contribution to sales meeting.
- Customer records maintained accurately and up to date.
- Effective utilization of “Excellence in Strategic Selling” techniques and tools.
**REQUIRES**:(Functional/Technical Skills & Knowledge)**
- Sound sales experience desirable but not necessary.
- Strong customer focus.
- Practical use of PPG CPC & Protec products desirable but not necessary.
- Previous experience with competitor products an advantage.
- Trade qualification in spray painting and refinish industry is desirable.
- Negotiation and presentation skills.
- Planning and prioritizing.
- Relationship building.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
